Alex joined Developing World Markets in 2011 as an Investor Development Analyst.
Prior to joining DWM, Alex served as a leveraged finance transactions paralegal for Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton, an international law firm. She provided lead support for senior partners and worked closely on deals such as BHP's attempted $40 billion hostile takeover and the $2 billion note offering by BBVA Bancomer S.A., Mexico's largest bank. During her undergraduate career, she gained significant communications experience, working for CNN in the Chicago news bureau and for the former Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, Barbara Lawton, in the press department. Alex has also worked for various lobbying firms, focusing on both national and state policy.
Alex received her JBA in Journalism and Mass Communication and her BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She graduated magna cum laude and with highest academic honors in political science. Alex has lived in Spain and is conversational in Spanish. She has also done development volunteer work in South Africa and Guatemala.
