Kari joined DWM in 2008. As a financial analyst, Kari supports MFI's funding needs around the world, with an emphasis in Latin America and Eastern Europe. She has focused primarily on debt – providing financial, macroeconomic, and competitive analysis.
Prior to joining DWM, Kari served as Associate Vice President for Toltec Financial, a Los Angeles-based lender that provides credit to the unbanked Latino immigrant population. Previously, Kari worked abroad, supporting Banco de Costa Rica's international lending operations. As an M&A analyst for Grupo Financiero Banorte (Mexico's 5th largest bank), she shaped their remittance and border banking strategy. During her undergraduate education, Kari interned at the Inter American Development Bank in Washington D.C. as a researcher, supporting social programs in Latin America.
Kari received her International MBA from Pepperdine University, with an exchange at Tecnologico de Monterrey EGADE. She received her BA in Political Science, International Relations from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a Fulbright Scholar (Mexico) and speaks fluent Spanish.
